GTEST returned to Alsfeld, Germany, for its sixth annual test event, bringing together more than 60 new vehicles and prototypes from 30 automotive brands.
More than 80 journalists and influencers from around the world attended the three-day event, taking part in back-to-back test drives, vehicle comparisons and content creation.
The line-up included performance models such as the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Land Rover Defender Octa and Hyundai Ioniq 6 N, alongside the latest electric and hybrid vehicles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Volvo, Xpeng, Kia, BYD, Toyota, Lucid, Cadillac and Geely.
Several upcoming models and technologies were also presented as static displays, including the Geely E2 prototype, Gentex Q8 prototype, Hyundai Ioniq 3, Mazda CX-6e and Škoda Peaq.
Attendees also had access to interviews with senior automotive industry executives, including David Green, Vice President of Strategy, Products and Offers at Lynk & Co, Dr Alexander Krepp, Chief Quality Officer at Volkswagen Group, and Markus Schrick, Managing Director of Xpeng Germany. Discussions focused on future vehicle development, technology and market strategy.
GTEST is organised by CDE, which also hosts Car // Design Event, the GCOTY Awards and CDE Classic. The event is attended by automotive brands operating across the European market, giving manufacturers an opportunity to present new vehicles to journalists and content creators.
The event takes place ahead of the GCOTY Awards online voting in August, with the awards presented in September. It provides jurors with an opportunity to test many of the year’s newest vehicles before voting.
This year’s event was supported by AItastic, Autocom Associates, Bridgestone, Gentex and OpenWB.
