Bahrain and Germany established diplomatic relations more than 47 years ago. Today, both countries are linked by a close partnership built upon high-level contacts, economic investment and cultural exchange. German companies in Bahrain are providing services and producing goods not only for the Bahraini market but to the Gulf and beyond. Hundreds of Bahrainis are studying the German language in language courses provided by the Embassy, by the University of Bahrain and the Bahrain School.
We were moved by how people in Bahrain shared our commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Also, thanks to the Bahraini Authority for Culture and Antiquities, outstanding German artists have performed in Bahrain during the Spring of Culture and the Bahrain International Music Festival. Last but not least this year’s Manama dialogue was characterized by a strong presence of German government representatives and experts from Germany.
On the occasion of the 48th National Day of Bahrain, I would like to congratulate the people of Bahrain and its government under the leadership of His Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, for their achievements.
