Moderate to heavy rainfall and strong winds impacted parts of Al Ain, Fujairah and Sharjah on the evening of Saturday, May 10. The weather across the UAE is predominantly cloudy, and the Met Office has indicated that these cloudy conditions are expected to persist until Sunday evening.

Rain has been reported in Al Faw, north of Al Shweib in Al Ain, south of Madam in Abu Dhabi, and in Al Badair in central Sharjah around 4:30pm.

Instagram account @storm_ae, which posts weather updates from the UAE also shared a video of rain in Sharjah and Al Ain.

The formation of rainy clouds in the eastern regions of the UAE caused the rainfall. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued yellow alerts for convective clouds stretching from Fujairah to Al Ain.

Abu Dhabi Police have reminded motorists to exercise caution due to the rainy weather conditions. Drivers are advised to adhere to the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Earlier, the NCM indicated a chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday, with additional precipitation expected in the northern and eastern regions. Currently, the weather nationwide is partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 35°C to 39°C this evening.
