Dubai’s New 5-year Multiple-Entry Visa For Indians: What Is It, How Does It Work?

Dubai has rolled out a new five-year multiple entry visa aimed at enhancing the ease of travel between India and the Gulf region.

“Dubai introduced a five-year multiple-entry visa to further bolster travel between India and Dubai, to foster sustained economic collaborations and encourage tourism and business ties,” the DET said.

In 2023, Dubai experienced a notable 25 per cent surge in visitors compared to pre-pandemic levels, catapulting it to the top source market, according to DET’s latest data released on Thursday.

What is the five-year multiple-entry visa?

With this new visa, tourists will be able to leverage multiple entries and exits in and out of Dubai, which will allow greater flexibility for business engagements, leisure travel, and seamless connectivity, the DET said.

This visa, obtainable within 2-5 working days, allows holders to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days, extendable once for a similar period, with a maximum total stay of 180 days in a year.

The visitor is granted a multiple entry visa for tourism, valid for a period of five years from the date of issuance, without requiring a sponsor/host within the country, after paying the prescribed fees and the security deposit, according to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

How can you apply?

To apply for the visa, applicants need to provide a personal photo, a passport copy valid for at least six months, six months of bank statements, health insurance, and a round trip ticket.

Applicants can apply through various channels, including digital platforms such as the GDRFA website or smart application, or by visiting Customer Happiness Centers or AMER Service centres.

The application process involves filling in the required information, submitting necessary documents, and paying the service fee, either online or at the designated centres.
