iPhone Users Say Apple’s New Update Is Destroying Their Battery

iPhone users are, once again, not best pleased following the latest Apple update which they believe is killing their phones.

Just last night Apple unveiled its iOS 17.1 update which contained numerous important bug fixes and security updates.

The update also provided improvements to AirDrop, StandBy, and Apple Music.

However while many people rushed to download the update, several users are claiming that its ruined their battery life with some saying their charge is draining significantly quicker than before.

One person wrote: “After updating iOS 17.1, my battery on iPhone 13 Pro is draining fast”, while another said: “iOS 17.1 sucks”.

Another said: “Idle Battery drain on iOS 17.1 on the iPhone 15 is insanely high.

“I know its a huge update and will require a couple of charge cycles to settle in, but it feels way higher than the previous updates.”

Another one wrote: “My brand new phone battery is getting bad. 1% going every 7 mins. IOS 17.1 sucks. FIX IT BEFORE YOU LOSE CUSTOMERS AND GET HATE!”

While one more argued it was their worst experience this year, writing: “Worst experience ever this year after updating to iOS 17.1 my battery is draining like crazy. WTF is happening.”

Thankfully, there is some good news for Apple users as one expert has suggested the battery won’t drain as quickly forever, saying: “Installing a new OS on an iPhone triggers a lot of stuff to go on in the background, from indexing to recalibrating the battery, and this can go on for hours or even days.

“Not only does this consume power, but the battery recalibration can give the impression that the battery is draining more rapidly when in fact it isn’t.”
