India Records Biggest Daily Jump of 896 New Cases, 37 Deaths
The overall coronavirus tally has touched 6,761 in India, including 896 new cases in the past 24 hours, the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs Ministry said.
Of all these cases, 6,039 are active cases, 516 have been cured and 206 deaths. The country has also reported 37 deaths in the past 24 hours alone.
Earlier, the Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has extended the curfew in the state till May 1. Punjab is the second state to extend restrictions after Odisha.
