UAE Issues Immediate Recall of IKEA Children’s Toys Over Choking Fears

The UAE Ministry of Economy has issued immediate recall of an IKEA children’s toy over fears of it being a choking hazard for children. IKEA issued a statement recalling the ‘Blavingad fishing’ toy and it is currently being withdrawn by the Swedish furniture giant, in cooperation with the Ministry.

The statement explained that the toy has a small metal rivet on the wooden play piece that can come loose, posing a choking hazard for children.

Customers were urged to stop using it and return it to any IKEA store within the country.

A full refund is issued upon return without the need for proof of purchase.
