Qatari tourists visiting Iran do not need to obtain a visa as of February 4, 2024 as the Islamic Republic’s visa-free program for them officially takes effect, the ambassador to the Arab country, Ali Salehabadi announced.

He expressed satisfaction with multiple and common cultural bonds between the two countries, describing the program as an important step in developing bilateral cooperation and growth of tourism in line with protecting the national interests of the two sides.

A few days ago, Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Iranian Expatriates Affairs Alireza Bigdeli said that the Foreign Ministry had already notified relevant bodies of the cabinet’s executive order on dropping visa requirements for citizens of 28 countries.

Visa-free travel to Iran for Qataris

The citizens of those 28 countries, who travel to Iran for tourism purposes, do not need to get a visa as of February 4, 2024, he added.
