Saudi: Criminal Killed in Exchange of Police Fire While Trying To Flee After Robbing SR1 Million in Riyadh

One member of a two-member armed gang of robbers was killed and the other injured in exchange for fire by the security forces during a chase in the city of Riyadh. The gang members were fleeing after robbing cash amounting to SR1 million from a money transport vehicle, according to a spokesman for Public Security.

The spokesman said that the money transport vehicle, belonging to a transport services company, was robbed by armed citizens, and an amount of SR1 million was seized from it. Immediately after receiving information about the robbery, the security patrol teams launched a massive manhunt for the culprits.

The security forces spotted the perpetrators’ vehicle and damaged it. Soon, the criminals got out of the car and tried to escape in a stolen car after shooting and wounding its driver. This led to an exchange of fire that resulted in the death of one of the criminals. The other criminal, who sustained injuries, was arrested, the spokesman said, adding that the stolen money was seized from the culprit.
