King Fahad Causeway hits record with the number of travelers accounting to 119,320 passengers on the previous weekend since the beginning of the year 2019.
The highest number of travelers to Saudi Arabia accounts to 77,003 passengers and nearly 228,421 passengers over the two consecutive days of the previous weekend.
Bahrain witnessed nearly 59,690 passengers on Friday according to statistics of King Fahd Passport Controls, the Saudi side.
The Director-General of the King Fahad Causeway Authority (KFCA), Eng. Emad Al-Muhaisen conveyed his gratitude to HM King Hamad Al-Khalifa on the occasion of the Royal Decree issued to develop the King Fahd Causeway in cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
He added that “the indicators showed for the first quarter of this year an increase of more than 6% in the number of passengers for the same period last year.”
An average estimation involves 80 thousand passengers a day for the current year marking the highest record since the opening of the causeway in 1986.
