Kuwait Airways has announced the cancellation of some of its flights as it looks to lease three aircraft to cover for a delay in aircraft deliveries.
The national carrier was due to receive three new Airbus A320 Neo aircraft in March 2019 but has been informed by the French manufacturer that the delivery will be done in June, October and November of the current year.
Kuwait Airways had suspended operations of its older Airbus A320 aircraft since April 1, and has been put in “standstill mode” in preparation for its sale with anticipation of the new aircraft being delivered.
Kuwait Airways plans to temporarily cancel some of their current flights and merge other flights to cope with the increasing demand in order to restore the operating schedule in few days.
The Airlines has taken into account all alternative measures to accommodate their passengers simultaneously ensuring the least minimum disruption to their travel itinerary.
The airlines expect to receive the new leased aircraft within the next two weeks period.
