The Kuwait national football team achieved a valuable victory over the UAE, winning 2-1 in the match held this evening as part of the second round of Group A in the Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 26) at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium.

According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the UAE took the lead with a goal scored by striker Caio Canedo, assisted by Harib Abdullah, with a header in the fifth minute of the first half. However, the Kuwait team responded with an equaliser from Mohammad Daham in the 16th minute, before his teammate Moath Al Enezi scored the winning goal in the 89th minute.

With this victory, Kuwait raised their points tally to 4, sharing the top spot in the group with Oman, who also won today, defeating Qatar 2-1 with the same scoreline. Meanwhile, the UAE’s points remained at 1, waiting for the final round to determine their qualification to the semi-finals.

The final round of the group stage will take place next Friday, with the UAE facing Oman at Jaber Al Mubarak Stadium, while Kuwait will play Qatar at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium.
