Kuwait: Doctor arrested for forgery and corruption

Kuwaiti security authorities arrested a doctor for his involvement in forgery crimes and unlawfully receiving 350,000 dinars in salary for six years during which time he was absent from work.

According to local media, the Kuwaiti doctor, who was working at Mubarak Hospital, stopped working in 2011, but he continued to receive his monthly salary until 2016.

Upon investigation, it was found that the doctor forged official documents proving he was working during these years. He deceived an official at the hospital and had the documents stamped.

The Ministry of Health came to know that he was absent and had unlawfully received the salaries. The doctor confessed to the crime and has been referred to Public Prosecution for legal action.
