Kuwait: Expats banned from transferring visa from public to private sector

Expats in Kuwait have been banned from transferring residence visas from the government sector to the private sector.

The General Director of the Public Authority of Manpower, Ahmed Al-Mousa announced that a decision was made to ban the transfer of workers from the government sector to the private sector.

This step was taken to give more control to the labor market.

The decision excludes the husbands and children of Kuwaiti women, and the wives of Kuwaitis, Palestinian nationals and medical professionals who have the license to practice from the Ministry of Health.
