Kuwait: Maid survives after being shot twice by her sponsor
An unidentified Indian domestic worker, who is believed to be in her 30s, has survived after being shot twice by her Kuwaiti sponsor, Al Seyassah Newspaper reported on Sunday.
According to the daily, the domestic worker has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Adan Hospital.
The Kuwaiti man, who is believed to be psychologically ill, fired two bullets at the maid leaving her in a pool of blood.
The daily did not say if the suspect has been arrested but an attempted murder case has been filed against the suspect. The maid’s condition is believed to be stable.
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), there are 660,00 domestic workers in Kuwait.
