Kuwait: Ministerial and State Work Suspension Extended

Kuwait’s cabinet has extended the suspension of all ministerial and state agency work by an additional two weeks from Saturday, March 21 to combat the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, according to a government spokesman.

In a report in Kuwait’s state-run KUNA news agency, government spokesperson Tareq Al-Mezrem said that the decision means that government employees will resume work only on April 12.

Additionally, the cabinet decided to keep all shops and markets shut, with the exception of locations that sell food products. Al-Mezrem added that Kuwait Municipality has been tasked with identifying any other activities that should be excluded from the regulations.
