Kuwait: Total coronavirus cases reach 49,303
Kuwait has confirmed 631 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, raising the country’s infection tally to 49,303, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported Saturday, citing a Health Ministry update.
The latest cases are 386 Kuwaitis and 245 foreign residents, an official at the ministry said.
The total fatalities from COVID-19 in Kuwait rose to 365 with five new deaths.
All the new cases were in contact with previously infected people or are being investigated for sources of infection, the Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said in a daily update.
There are 158 patients receiving intensive care treatment, the official said.
Kuwait’s total virus tests have reached 402,941 so far after 3,443 tests have been done over the past 24 hours, Dr Al Sanad said.
