Madinah Conducts 21,000 Food-Safety Inspections

To ensure compliance with food-safety standards, authorities in Madinah conducted 21,507 inspections of commercial establishments in June.

This intensive campaign aimed to ensure strict adherence to hygiene regulations, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

Parallel to the inspection drive, the city has also trained 2,000 people as a part of its world-class health education program.

The municipality’s laboratories conducted 897 analyses on food samples last month to safeguard the health of consumers. There were 63 samples found to be toxic, the SPA reported.

The city has urged companies to adhere to hygiene standards.

Members of the public should call the dedicated hotline number 940 to report food-safety concerns, the report stated.
