The general and constituency polling stations across Bahrain are witnessing an unrivaled turnout of registered Bahraini voters for the municipal and parliamentary elections which started today. Large numbers of citizens queued up to participate in the elections in a patriotic scene showing love for Bahrain, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
Polling stations opened on Saturday at 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) across Bahrain for 2018 parliamentary elections and will remain open until 8 p.m. (1700 GMT).
Voters will elect the 40 members of the Council of Representatives and the 30 members of the municipal councils for the 2018-2022 term.
A higher voter turnout is expected than the previous elections held in 2014.
