Moroccan boy declared dead after well rescue
Rayan, a five-year-old Moroccan boy was pronounced dead shortly after being taken out of a well.
Moroccan authorities announced the death shortly after rescue workers were able to take him out of the well where he fell five days ago.
Emergency teams reached Rayan on Saturday night after rescuers worked days to chisel him out of the water well.
The child fell into the well Tuesday afternoon and was discovered after he was heard crying, his mother said in an interview with Al-Aoula two days later. She said he was playing in a nearby area before disappearing for a brief time, and that she was quick to call authorities after hearing him.
