A source from the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) denied what was circulated on activist accounts on social media, regarding the new gasoline prices, starting on January 12.

Social media accounts posted about Gasoline prices indicating that prices for Mumtaz will be 160 fils per liter, and Jayyid 125 fils, while these prices were approved on January 12, 2016.

Prices were again raised on January 9, 2018, to reach 200 fils per liter of Mumtaz gasoline (95 octanes) by 25%, and 140 fils per liter of Jayyid (91 octanes) by 12%, which are the prices currently in force.

It is known that Bahrain did not raise the prices of hydrocarbons before these dates, which means that it froze at 100 fils per Mumtaz liter and 80 fils for Jayyid liter since 1980, for more than 35 years.
