Oman: International Conference For Floral Artists Launched At National Museum

The International Conference for Floral Artists began main events at the National Museum on Sunday.

The Museum organises the conference in collaboration with the World Association for Floral Artists (WAFA). This unique event, celebrating flowers, will continue for four days and involves the participation of over 18 countries. It features artists and enthusiasts worldwide in the art of flower arrangement.

The conference aims to promote the art of flower arrangement, enhance the exchange of ideas related to the art and its associated interests, conserve natural and environmental resources, and strengthen connections among the WAFA members.

The conference includes events, lectures, and workshops highlighting the participants’ skills and creativity in flower arrangement. Guided tours and an introduction to the National Museum will be also organised.

An international competition will be held for participating members, along with live presentations on arranging and shaping artistic displays using diverse flowers. These presentations will be delivered by renowned floral artists, including international arranger Madhu Shah from Australia, Kitty Gallanghar from Ireland and Poornima Subramanian representing the Sultanate of Oman.

The World Association for Floral Artists (WAFA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organisation of International floral art societies. It was formed in 1981. Through its worldwide scope, WAFA enhances the diversity of floral art form by transcending international cultural barriers and bringing together fresh ideas.
