Oman Air announced it was suspending all flights to Bahrain and Egypt from March 19 until further notice, the Oman News Agency reported.

The suspension of flights comes in line with the decision taken by the General Civil Aviation Authorities in Oman, Bahrain and Egypt as a precautionary measure to counter the spread of coronavirus.

Also today, the Ministry of Health said it was imposing quarantine on all travellers entering Oman with immediate effect.

The quarantine (either at home or at health institutions) applies to all travellers, including Omanis, expats and GCC citizens entering the country through air, land and seaports.

“If you are developing any symptoms, please do contact the MoH call Centre or the nearest health institution,” added the ministry in its statement.
