Oman Coast Likely To Hit by Cyclone ‘HIKKA’

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday informed that Cyclonic Storm ‘HIKKA’ will reach Oman coast by the early morning of September 25.

“Deep Depression over Arabian sea intensified into a Cyclonic Storm ‘HIKAA’ at 0530 IST of September 23 near latitude 20.5degN and longitude 66.2degE, 760 km east-southeast of Masirah (Oman). It will reach Oman coast by 25th September early morning,” tweeted.

After undergoing several intensifications, Cyclone Hikka has finally formed in the Arabian Sea. The name ‘Hikka’ has been given by the Maldives. The system, which was a Deep Depression in the East Central and adjoining Northern parts of the Arabian Sea has now become a Cyclonic storm centered at Lat. 20.3°N and Long. 65.9°E in the Arabian Sea.
