Bahrain: Over-speeding kills two, injures nine in Muharraq

Two expats died and nine others injured among which three of whom are in critical condition in a traffic accident, Al Bilad Newspaper reported.

The accident took place on Thursday at dawn on Rayya Street near Dair village in Muharraq. An expat was driving a 19-passengers minibus with 15 other expats heading to their worksite in the Muharraq area.

Due to high speed and carelessness, the driver lost control and hit the pavement, causing the minibus to flip over several times.

Reports stated that the deceased were 30 and 31 years old, while the others were transferred to the hospital to receive necessary treatment.

Traffic police rushed to the scene and closed the road as precautionary to prevent traffic jams until the traffic police and civil defense arrived.

The Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defense and the General Directorate of Traffic stated that they initiated an investigation into the accident to figure out the circumstances of the incident.
