Oman gets its first industrial salt factory

Duqm Salt Factory in the Wilayat of Mahout in Al Wusta Governorate is the first project of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman that produces raw and industrial salt for companies operating in the oil fields.

The idea of establishing the factory came as a result of the great demand for industrial salt by oil companies for use in drilling wells. The Global Integrated Engineering Company has invested OMR 12 million in the factory’s establishment.
