Oman: HIV cases increased by 5 percent

HIV rates have increased by over 5 percent in 2018 in Oman, according to the National Center for Statistics and Information.

A total of 2,927 cases were registered with the ministry, in which 1,866 cases were from the age group of 25 to 49.

There is an increase of 5.2% AIDS cases in 2018 compared to 2017. The distribution of cases by age group was as follows; 0 to 4 years are 69 cases, 5 to 14 years are 120 cases, from 15 to 24 years reached 543 cases, from 25 to 49 reached 1866 and the age of 50 and above amounted to 329 cases.
