Oman: Illegal smuggling of 26 Asians into country foiled

Oman’s coast guard has seized a boat with 26 infiltrators on board, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said Friday, the second such incident in two days.

The infiltrators from different Asian nationalities were arrested off the State of Shinas in northern Oman, ROP added on Twitter.

“Legal procedures are being completed against them,” the ROP said.

On Thursday, the ROP said that the coast guard police had arrested 65 Asian infiltrators riding four smuggling boats off Shinas while trying to illegally enter Oman.

The ROP warned citizens and expatriates against facilitating illegals’ entry into the sultanate.
