Oman’s Ministry of Health will start implementing the e-payment system on January 1, 2018 at all hospitals and other government-run medical facilities.
It announced that all cash payments would be suspended and replaced by the direct electronic payment system, using debit or credit cards.
“No cash payments will be accepted starting January 1. The collection of all fees and amounts due to the ministry in all its health institutions will be via e-payment through the credit/debit card,” the MOH said in an online statement reported by Times of Oman.
