Oman: Minister of Labour calls for faster replacement of expats

 The Minister of Labour has asked companies in the Sultanate to expedite the replacement of expatriate workforce by Omani nationals.

The Ministry, in cooperation with the Omani Investment Authority, held a meeting with the executive heads of government companies, in which they discussed replacement plans and priority for employing Omanis in leadership and supervisory professions in government companies.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mahad bin Said bin Ali Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, who stressed the need to accelerate the replacement of the expatriate workforce by the national workforce, calling for the importance of training and qualifying the national workforce on the job.
