Oman: OMR 300 fine for violating night closure order

Commercial activities violating the decision of the Supreme Committee with regards to the closure of commercial activities from 8 pm to 5 am will be penalized with a fine of OMR 300 and closure of the activities.

A fine of OMR 1,000 will be imposed in the event of repetition as well as cancellation of license, the Muscat Municipality said.

According to the Supreme Committee, the temporary closure of businesses includes closing all restaurants and cafes, which are also not allowed to provide home delivery services after they’ve been shut.

The closure does not include fuel stations, health institutions, and private pharmacies.

The decision does not include the movement ban of individuals and vehicles.
