Bahrain Moves Up As an Emerging Market in 2020

Bahrain ranked 15th globally on the Agility Index for Emerging Markets 2020, while the Kingdom strengthened its competitiveness to rank fifth globally on the sub-index after it advanced three places compared to 2019.

The favourable conditions for doing business and the main strengths in giving the GCC countries advanced positions in the ranking of the index after the two giant markets: (1) China and India (2) and Southeast Asia.

GCC countries ranked on top ranks, with the Emirates ranking 3rd, Saudi Arabia 6th, Qatar 7th, Oman 14th, Bahrain 15th and Kuwait 19th. Among Southeast Asian countries, Indonesia ranked 4th, Malaysia 5th, Thailand 9th and Vietnam 11th due to its strong performance.
