Oman, Saudi, Iraq and Yemen grouped together for Arabian Gulf Cup

Two-time champions Oman have been pooled in a tough group at next year’s 25th Arabian Gulf Cup after the tournament’s draw was held in Basra, Iraq, on Tuesday.

Oman has been pooled in Group A which includes Saudi Arabia, and hosts Iraq and Yemen.
Group B comprises Asian Cup champions Qatar, holders Bahrain, Kuwait and UAE.

The eight participating teams will vie for the coveted title from January 6 to 19, 2023.

Kuwait are the most successful team in the tournament’s history with ten titles while Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iraq won the event three times each. Oman and the UAE triumphed in two editions each.
