Oman seizes over 369,000 prohibited goods

The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized more than 369,000 goods that contain the prohibited substance butylphenyl methylpropional “Lilial” at the shops and markets in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate.

The Consumer Protection Department in South Al Batinah Governorate in Barka, represented by the Market Regulation and Control Department, recently seized more than 369,000 prohibited goods in the shops and markets of the Wilayat of Barka through field visits to all the supplying companies and shops selling cosmetics. This was in addition to a group of barber shops and women’s beauty salons to ensure that all suppliers comply with Consumer Protection Authority Decision issued on banning the circulation of cosmetics and personal care products that contain butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial).

During the visit, 369,213 goods containing the prohibited substance were seized at the markets. The legal measures were taken in this regard. The field team also continued its efforts through inspections to ensure the markets are free of these prohibited goods.
