Bahrain: Illegal Disposal of Dead Animals Will Face Legal Persecution

“The Ministry will deal with violators of laws and regulations regarding the illegal disposal of dead animals and birds by referring them to the Public Prosecution,” announced the Animal Resources Agency at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

This announcement came following the scenes of dead animals and birds being thrown in the streets, garbage containers and empty lands or spaces.

The Undersecretary for Animal Resources at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Dr. Khaled Ahmed, said that a number of complaints were received by the Animal Resources Agency about the disposal of dead animal or birds by throwing them in the open areas or by burying them like poultry in Hamala area. The agency, he noted, started an investigation to uncover poultry farms that unlawfully disposed off dead poultry.

Dr. Khaled added that coordination has been done with the municipality of the northern area regarding these complaints, and the area has been cleaned directly. The agency and the municipality will transfer those responsible for these violations to the public prosecution in accordance with the Cleanliness Law No. 10 of 2019. He continued that all breeders and workers working in poultry farms and animal production must adhere to the regulations and articles of Law No. (10) of 2019 regarding public hygiene.
