Mwasalat, the Omani government-owned transport company, has resumed its services between Dubai and Muscat in agreement with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority.
The transportation firm said it had suspended its service in the aftermath of the crash which claimed the lives of 17 people as a precaution for the safety of passengers.
Mwasalat added that an independent investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident. “The team, which includes experts on traffic safety, will explore the direct and indirect causes of the serious accident.”
Dubai Police said the accident happened when a bus, with 31 passengers on board, crashed into a sign post along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road near the Rashidiya exit to the metro station.
