Saudi Arabia carries out price inspection tours

Teams from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment on Monday fanned out in all regions of the Kingdom to ensure prices are under control and the consumers are not being overcharged.

The teams will also be ensuring that all wholesale and retail trade stores are adhering to the approved preventive protocols to check the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

Business activities across the Kingdom began on Sunday after restrictions imposed in the wake of the pandemic were lifted.

The inspection teams monitor the prices of goods through electronic price monitoring systems and compare them with neighboring countries. The teams have been authorized to apply immediate fines in the event of an unjustified exaggeration in prices, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

The ministry called on all consumers to file complaints 24/7 at the link: https://mci.gov.sa/C-app or the call center on the number 1900 or the official website of the ministry.
