Parts Of Oman Affected By Tropical Storm ‘Vayu’

The indirect effect of tropical storm Vayu was felt in some places overlooking the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Sea with vast areas submerged by rising sea water.

Locals in the area have been circulating photos and videos on social media – of seawater entering some houses near the South Al Sharqiyah Wilayat beach.

Even people of Ras Al Hid (in Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali) woke up this morning and were surprised to find that seawater had entered their homes and flooded surrounding areas.

In the last update about the tropical system in the Arabian Sea, the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) said: “The latest observation shows that the cyclone “Vayu” markdown to a tropical storm and moved west/northwestward in the last hours. And according to numerical weather prediction, is expected to change it is the track to north/northeastward during the next 12 hours.”
