Qatar announces 440 New Coronavirus Cases

The Ministry of Public Health today announced 440 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and the recovery of 8 cases of the disease, bringing the total cases of recovery in the State of Qatar to 518 cases.

Most of the new cases are due to migrant workers who had been identified through tracing and were found to have mixed with infected cases, while the lowest percentage of the new cases came from citizens and residents who had contracted the virus from family members. Newly infected cases have been isolated and are receiving the necessary medical care.

Also, 8 cases of similar recovery were recorded, bringing the total cases of coronavirus in the State of Qatar to 518.

The Ministry stated that the noticeable increase in the number of confirmed new cases of infection is due to several reasons, including the fact that the spread of the virus has begun to enter the peak stage (i.e. the highest wave that affects the country), which may continue to increase for a period before it begins to decline. It is also due to the steady increase in the efforts of the Ministry Health and its medical teams to track the transmission chains of the coronavirus and expand the surveillance process, including of groups of contacts with people who were previously diagnosed with the disease. All of this has contributed to the early detection of many cases of infection and reduced the spread of the virus.
