Qatar: Impounded Vehicles to be Auctioned if Not Reclaimed

Qatar’s General Directorate of Traffic announced that vehicles impounded for more than three months will be put on auction if the penalties and ground fee are not paid within 30 days, according to the Ministry of Interior Twitter page.

In a statement released on social media, the Directorate said the owners of the vehicles should approach the Traffic Investigation Section at the Industrial Area Street No.52 to take the vehicles back after paying the penalties and ground fees within 30 days from June 21.

In case the owners of the seized vehicles do not show up and complete the required procedures within the specified period, the General Directorate of Traffic will cancel the registration of vehicles that have completed the legal period from the traffic records and will put them on sale in auction, the statement said.
