Qatar: Total cases cross 70,000 with 1,721 new cases

Ministry of Public Health today confirms that 1721 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered, and 1634 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The Ministry also announces there were 5 deaths.

​The Ministry states that in the last 24 hours 16 new cases have been admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases currently in intensive care to 236.

The ministry states that the five deaths recorded today belong to persons aged 65 years, 78 years, 80 years, 74 years and 53 years. They all received medical care in intensive care.

The Ministry of Public Health states that the State of Qatar has now started to overcome the phase of the peak of the virus outbreak, with the beginning of its decline.

Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 should either quickly contact the 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the designated health centers for testing.

The main screening centers include Muaither Health Centre, Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre, Umm Slal Health Centre and Al Gharafa Health Centre.
