A former loader with a Dubai company, whose singing talent was discovered in a labour camp contest, has released a music video on a global platform. Ammar Saeed, 28, who emerged as the first runner-up in the Smart Idol talent hunt show held in his Dubai workers’ camp in 2015, said his original soundtrack Sitam was launched on Selfie TV, an online entertainment channel in Dubai, on July 3.

Sahar Mahmud, founder of Selfie TV who directed and produced the music video, said, “When Saeed approached me with his original soundtrack, I wanted to support him and turn his dreams into reality.”

Saeed, who hails from Faislabad in Pakistan, has come a long way since his days in the labor camp. “I always wanted to be a professional singer. My singing has also earned me a lot of recognition and appreciation at work. I have been fortunate to have received four promotions in three years at my company. I currently serve as deputy accommodation manager,” said Saeed.
