One Degree Celsius in Bahrain?

“The lowest temperature recorded was 8.2 degrees Celsius, while it felt like about one degree,” says sources from the Meteorological Directorate at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication.

Sources added that the real feeling of one degree, recorded in the robotic monitoring station located in Sitra at dawn on Thursday, February 13, in some areas of Bahrain was due to strong winds.

Sources explained that this was part of the cold wave that the Kingdom of Bahrain was affected with during the past few days. They added that Bahrain witnessed northwest and strong winds accompanied by a cold wave which resulted in temperatures below the normal levels for the month of February due to a low polar air movement in the Arabian Gulf region.

According to the observations, weather models indicate that the northwestern wind will recede on Sunday evening, 15 February, and will turn into a light-velocity trend during the night. They added that expected humidity levels might increase which might lead to slight fog in some areas during the dawn and morning of next Sunday.

They also indicated that the wind was expected to turn southeasterly later on Sunday and continue until next Thursday and wind speed to range from light to moderate, and will be accompanied by warm weather during the day as temperatures rise above normal levels for this month to 21.2 ° C.
