Earlier this year, HUAWEI Consumer Business Group (CBG) unveiled the much anticipated HUAWEI P30 Series to consumers in the Middle East and Africa region. To date, the HUAWEI P30 Series is the company’s most advanced camera smartphones. In this review, we focus on their limited edition product – the HUAWEI P30 Pro: Amber Sunrise.

Brand New Feel

Bringing an entirely new look to Huawei’s flagship champion, the Amber Sunrise is easily one of the most eye-catching colours you can get for the P30 Pro. Emanating the beauty of the morning sunrise, this color variant of the P30 Pro flaunts rich hues of orange and red. Upon first look, we can’t deny that the phone really grabbed our attention in an instant.

Its original DNA and unique aura are the most important attributes that HUAWEI wants to convey to consumers through HUAWEI P30 Series. With that said, HUAWEI chose to use the color orange because it is committed to creating a bright and fresh effect with this color.

Behind the Looks

The Amber Sunrise color variant of the HUAWEI P30 Pro is available in an impressive 512 GB of storage option, exclusive for this limited edition. Giving users more space for all their photos, videos, apps and more, as well as 8GB RAM to enjoy faster processing.

The P30 Pro boasts a stunning 6.47- inch curved OLED display. Despite its slightly larger size, it is still comfortable to hold with one hand. Smooth and rich textures surround the phone, while a double curved glass envelops the phone in a protective invisible barrier. What’s even more impressive is that this design serves a dual purpose, with an IP68 rating against dust and water.

The Amber Sunrise is powered by the Kirin 980, HUAWEI’s fastest chipset yet, along with a massive 4,200 mAh battery with 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge which can charge the phone back up to 70% in just 30 minutes. It also includes GPU Turbo 3.0, which improves the gaming experience by enhancing graphics and ensuring users will enjoy a smoother performance with no lag.

The brand has made a name for itself with long battery life and it continues to stand above the rest. The charging experience has also been heightened with HUAWEI’s supercharge, wireless quick charge, and HUAWEI’s reverse charge feature. Furthermore, the call quality is very good, reception is loud and clear and the signal is fairly strong in both the WiFi and mobile connectivity.

The phone is also incredibly responsive and its fingerprint sensor is almost instantaneous.

Like the rest of the P30 Pro Series, the Amber Sunrise runs the latest version of EMUI 9.1 as its operating system. Themes and icons have been updated to match the advanced all scenario AI to provide a wonderful experience in looks and practicality.

Inside the slim body of the Amber Sunrise is a 40MP primary camera with a HUAWEI SuperSpectrum Sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide angle camera, an 8MP telephoto camera fitted with a SuperZoom Lens and a HUAWEI ToF Camera.

The all-new sensor, lens arrangement, image signal processor (ISP) and neural processing unit (NPU) work in tandem to capture incredible photos and videos.

The phone also introduces the most advanced mobile imaging technology seen on a HUAWEI device yet— the Leica Quad Camera System.

HUAWEI intends to pack all the amazing features into one camera system and true enough, the P30 Pro provided absolute clarity, precision, and perfection in any photo or video shoot we had. We’ll be honest, we have never enjoyed smartphone photography as much as we did with the Amber Sunrise.

The Verdict

HUAWEI is really trying to impress – our experience with the Amber Sunrise lived up to the hype. It’s safe to say that this powerhouse really exceeded our expectations in many aspects.
