Riyadh: Consumers can condemn water bills within 60 days
National Water Company (NWC), Riyadh, said that its consumers are entitled to condemn water bills within 60 days after the date of issuance. It was also quoted that there will be certain specific occasions during which the water service will not be cut off. These consist of periods of school exams; weekend holidays of Friday and Saturday; Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha holidays; National Day and the month of Ramadan, in addition to the Hajj season in the cities of Makkah and Madinah.
In the event of a reduction in consumption, the consumer will be given the option to either receive the excess amounts that he had paid or to add the amount to his credit. Regarding the reasons for the fluctuation in the rates of bills for some consumers, NWC said that the reason may be due to the leakage or because the meter reading in one of the months was a predicted one and not an actual one.
