Dubai Run, the world’s largest community-run took place on Sunday. Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council led the run with 226,000 participants.

This event, marking the conclusion of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2023, has once again solidified its position as the world’s largest community run.

Sheikh Hamdan along with UAE astronauts Sultan Alneyadi and Hazzaa Almansoori, joined the wider community on the 10km route.

Also participating in the run were Al Neyadi’s fellow Expedition 69 crew members from his historic mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS), including American astronauts Stephen Bowen, Warren Hoburg, and Francisco Rubio, as well as Russian cosmonauts Sergey Prokopev, Dimitrii Petelin, and Andrei Fediaev.

During the launch of the fifth edition of Dubai Run, astronaut Al Neyadi presented the Dubai Fitness Challenge flag to Sheikh Hamdan. The same flag was carried by the astronaut on his six-month mission in space.

Dubai Run catered to runners of all levels, offering two distinct routes. The 10km route was along Sheikh Zayed Road and the 5km route went along Downtown Dubai.

Dubai Police supercars led the start of Dubai Run, with automotive partner Nissan setting the pace for the event. Additionally, all the Mai Dubai water bottles used at the event were recycled by DGRADE, in collaboration with AVERDA, ensuring sustainable waste management.

Along the route, runners faced three DJ zones curated by UNTOLD Dubai.
