Salary hike for BAS Bahraini staff

Manama: The Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) company has announced an increase in the salaries of its Bahraini staff as of January this year.

The BAS salary increase is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, with the aim to improve the Bahraini employees’ standards of living.

The salary hike also comes on the occasion of the company celebrating its 40th anniversary.

CEO of BAS, Salman Saleh Al Mahmeed said that the company had launched a comprehensive transformation strategy that focuses on human resources, highlighting the company’s initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity through improving salaries, particularly the national competencies.

Al-Mahmeed explained that 1,400 Bahraini employees will benefit from the pay rise, adding that many development initiatives will follow.

In a statement, BAS expressed pride in its 80 per cent Bahrainisation rate, noting that the pay rise initiative was taken in line with the existing partnership with the Labour and Social Development Ministry and Tamkeen.
