A school trip to an amusement park in Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh ended in horror after 14 students fell from a roller coaster earlier last week.
According to local news reports, the incident left ten high school girls injured and in hospital, while four others were treated for minor injuries on the spot after falling from the 8-meter high thrill ride.
Speaking to Saudi news outlets, one of the victims said most roller coasters in the park looked undermaintained and dangerous.
A teacher who was overseeing the trip added that the park’s employees refused to call rescue teams in the wake of the incident.
Following the accident, Saudi authorities announced the closure of the amusement park and the launch of an official investigation into the matter.
