As many as 34 Saudi men and women lawyers were deleted from the list of practicing lawyers during 2017 for various violations in the profession, local daily Al-Watan reported on Monday quoting the General Authority of Saudi Lawyers.
It said the lawyers were referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigations on charges that they have violated the system and the statute of lawyers.
The authority, in a report, said in the same year it had issued seven disciplinary decisions against men and women lawyers and has transferred 15 other lawyers to the list of non-practicing lawyers.

The authority said any lawyer who violates the system of lawyers will be imprisoned for a year or fined SR30,000 or receiving the two punishments together.
