Saudi: 5-Year Jail, SR5 Million in Fine for Forging E-signature

The Public Prosecution has determined the penalties stipulated in the law against anyone who forges any electronic signature, records, digital certificate or uses these documents while knowing that they are forged.

The penalties include imprisonment for a period reaching 5 years, in addition to a financial penalty of up to SR5 million.

The Public Prosecution has also confirmed that they will confiscate the devices, systems and programs that were used in the forgery. in addition to publishing the judgment issued at the expense of the convict after the ruling becomes final.

The criminal protection that is approved towards electronic transactions enhances the credibility of the transactions and the safety of their uses.

Any forging practices in this regard are considered a major crime that requires arrest.
